Welcome

I am a counsellor, psychotherapist and member of the UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP). I am based in Bournemouth, where I see clients from all over Dorset and Hampshire. I also have a practice in the Cotswolds, Gloucestershire, near Stow-on-the-Wold. I work face to face, online via Zoom and on the telephone.

I provide a safe, compassionate and confidential space for us to explore together your anxieties, fears, pain and difficulties at your own pace. Together we can help you make better sense of your self, history, relationships and patterns of behaviour, with the aim of empowering you to lead a more fulfilling life.

I have helped people with depression, anxiety, stress, trauma, bereavement, abuse, family problems, relationships, life crises and addictions.

Covid-19

I will be working online during the COVID-19 pandemic using Zoom or other secure online video platforms should you prefer. I'm also happy to conduct therapy by telephone.

Testimonials

“I found the sessions really useful and a great help. Portia helped me explore my thoughts and feelings in a safe and non-judgemental environment. It meant a great deal to me that I could be so open and gain some acceptance about myself. Portia helped me through a very difficult time and I am incredibly grateful.
